Milford announces free public Wi-Fi pilot program
MILFORD, Del. – The City of Milford is launching a new program which will bring free wi-fi to public spaces downtown.
Right now, the city has a number of access points along the Riverwalk, but they’re already planning the next phase which would add signage and expand coverage in the Riverwalk area.
Mayor Todd Culotta hopes that increasing connectivity and accessibility will help draw more foot-traffic downtown: “Many people work now from home or wherever their their laptop and their Internet connection is. And if we can bring them downtown and they can frequent businesses and really help Milford grow, you know, providing Internet access down there, it was it was an easy idea.”
The city activated the public wi-fi for the first time this past weekend at the Milford Freedom Festival with over 80 devices connecting to their system which hadn’t even been advertised yet.
