Local residents share their plans for Labor Day 2024

Labor Day

Salisbury, Md. – Salisbury locals are sharing how they’re spending Labor Day.

Downtown Salisbury’s Unity Square has been a place where many have gathered to relax and have fun, and Monday was no different. Joseph Schreck has lived in Salisbury for four years and says he plans to relax and enjoy the nice weather. “Being able to spend a little time with family, and be off work, and just enjoy time with the little guy,” he said.

Ny Cephas has been a resident for the past two years. She felt like spending time downtown was perfect for this type of weather. She shares what’s the most important thing her family likes to do on Labor Day. “We out here with the kids, and after that, we’re going to Rehoboth, but they don’t know…  Cookouts, family. Just being with the family and enjoying time,” she said.

Cephas tells WMDT it’s great to see the community united at Unity Square, and she had plans to surprise her kids with some fun time and the beach. She says she hopes the splash pad at Unity Square will stay open to the public for the remainder of the summer.
