Local resident Bill Martin honored with road name

SALISBURY, Md – Wednesday morning saw a ceremony honoring a prominent longtime Salisbury resident.

Friends, family, and local officials gathered to celebrate Bill Martin by unveiling Bill Martin Way at East Main street.

Martin spent years in the area as a distinguished realtor, and has been involved with many different civic and community causes.

Notably, he has raised over $120,000 dollars for Alzheimer’s research.

Martin and his family said they were moved by the recognition.

“It means a lot. As a family [we] have always known he’s special. But it’s great to see that be honored in the community. He has influenced a lot of people over his career and personal life in a positive way. And it’s great to see him feel a little bit of that recognition himself,” said Joni Williams, Bill’s daughter.

Also at the ceremony, Mayor Randy Taylor delivered a proclamation declaring September 4th as Bill Martin Day.
