Local lawmaker raises concerns on OC offshore wind project
OCEAN CITY, Md.- Maryland State Senator, Mary Beth Carozza, spoke at the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management meeting, Tuesday, citing concerns of marine life and the commercial fishing industry potentially being impacted by the offshore wind project.
She said because Ocean City is Maryland’s most prominent beach town, she’s doing all she can to make sure those who visit and live there have their voices heard.
“It impacts not just residents and visitors in Ocean City, but it impacts across the state, because when you talk to Marylanders, it’s their beach town, it’s our only beach town,” Senator Carozza said.
Senator Carozza encourages everyone who is concerned about the issue to attend a public meeting at the Ocean City Convention center on September 24th.
