LINCOLN, Del. – A Lincoln man is behind bars on attempted murder charges following a shooting that reportedly left a woman in critical condition.
Shortly before 7 a.m. Sunday, troopers were called to a residence in the 23000 block of Deep Creek Drive for a reported shooting, learning that the suspect, identified as 52-year-old Nicholas Mosley, fled in an unknown direction. At the scene, troopers say they found a 43-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man, both suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
The 43-year-old woman was taken to an area trauma hospital and was admitted in critical condition. The 20-year-old man was taken to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say Mosley turned himself into Troop 7 following the shooting. Preliminary investigation revealed that Mosley allegedly shot his wife during an argument with her, and then shot his stepson before fleeing from the residence. Three additional family members were at the residence at the time of the incident, however, they were not injured.
Mosley was charged with attempt to commit first degree murder, first degree assault, aggravated menacing, three counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm if previously convicted of a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child. He was subsequently held at SCI on a $1,101,000 cash bond.
