Frederick Douglass Day is being celebrated in Easton on Saturday
EASTON, Md – The Frederick Douglass Honor Society is celebrating the life of Frederick Douglass in Easton, tomorrow from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will take place between Washington Street and West Street.
The Talbot County native is known for his life goal of ending the institutions of slavery against African Americans.
There will be many activities, including lecture sessions, guest speakers, marketplaces, and a parade.
FDHS Entertainment Chair, Vickie Wilson said, this day is to ensure people never forget their history
“So, there’s so many stories about, so much about Douglass, and what we want to do is share that information, especially with our young people, our young people need to know about Douglass.”
