DNREC announces closure of parts of North Indian River Inlet Beach

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Delaware’s Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) says parts of North Indian River Inlet Beach are currently closed. Officials say the closure is due to debris and exposed bridge infrastructure that have created some hazardous conditions.

For the next several months, DNREC says heavy equipment will be moving in and around the are to remedy the issues. They are asking citizens to respect the closure.

In a post on social media officials said, “Your safety is our priority, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Stay safe and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.”

DNREC has not provided an official time line for the work.
