Chincoteague Cultural Alliance hosts art sale & show for ‘Plein Air Week’ on Saturday

CHINCOTEAGUE ISLAND, Va. – Each September, the Chincoteague Cultural Alliance hosts a plein air art event for ‘Plein Air Week.’

62 artists from across the nation have come together to paint outdoors on Chincoteague and Assateague islands. Food, art, and community are the themes of the show.

It’s all going to be capped off, on Saturday, with the art show and sale at the Chincoteague center starting at 6 pm. Chincoteague Cultural Alliance president Madeline Adamson said the lineup of artists they have are all must-sees.

“Some of the people here are very well known, nationally known, others are less famous, so we got a tremendous variety, it’s always interesting to see what people choose to paint because they can on Chincoteague Island or Assateague Island.”

The event is free to the public. 25% of all art sales will go to the CCA to help promote the arts on the island.
