Cambridge man arrested on numerous rape charges
CAMBRIDGE, Md. – Cambridge Police arrested a man earlier this month on numerous rape charges stemming from an investigation.
The investigation began in July when the victim contacted police to report the offenses, which reportedly took place two years prior in the Cambridge area. The victim reported that a man, identified as 36-year-old Devonte Rodriquez, forced them to perfect sexual acts and have sexual intercourse against their consent multiple times. The victim also reported that Rodriquez would make threatening statements and comments of violence that would happen to the victim and their family if the victim told anybody. Additionally, Rodriquez allegedly possessed a handgun and made threats with the handgun several times.
A warrant was issued for Rodriquez, who was taken into custody on September 7th and charged with four counts of first degree rape, five counts of second degree rape, four counts of third degree sex offense, four counts of fourth degree sex offense sexual contact, three counts of firearm use in a violent crime, four counts of second degree assault, and retaliate witness. He was held without bond.
