Burbage Regional Cancer Care Center to hold free prostate screening event
BERLIN, Md. – Burbage Regional Cancer Care Center is set to hold a free prostate cancer screening event for the public.
An estimated one in eight men will develop prostate cancer in his lifetime, this is according to the American Cancer Society. Prostate Cancer doesn’t have symptoms at first, so early detection will allow providers to make the best decisions. This event will take place at the John H. Burbage, Jr. Regional Cancer Care Center in Berlin on October 17th 5 pm to 7 pm.
Radiation oncologist Manoj Jain, M.D., urologist Jason Smith, D.O. and nurse practitioner Nettie Widgeon will be on-hand to provide education and conduct digital rectal exams; blood draws will be available to test PSA, or prostate-specific antigen levels. .
