Ballet on the Beach Dance Festival on Assateague Island
ASSATEAGUE ISLAND, Md. – Organizers of a dance festival are gearing up for a show on Assateague Island.
They say the Ballet on the Beach Dance Festival acts as a conduit to connect the community, environment, and performing arts. Cosponsored by Assateague State Park, the event is scheduled for September 21, 2024. A rain date has been set for September 22, 2024.
Taking place outdoors along the Atlantic Ocean, attendees are invited to bring beach chairs or towels to enjoy professional dance artists performing in a natural shoreline setting. In addition to professional performances, other festival activities include environmental talks, a community dance class, art activities for children, and a pointe shoe pavilion sponsored by Freed of London USA.
The performance will take place between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. at 6915 Stephen Decatur Highway in Berlin, Md. It is free and open to the public. Parking costs $5. You can find tickets here.
