Attempted robbery investigation underway in Dover

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are investigating an attempted robbery in a local parking lot Monday afternoon.

At around 2:15 p.m., officers were called to the area of Shutte Park for a report of suspicious activity. At the scene, officers met with the victim, who reported that they were eating lunch in the parking lot when a man wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black pants approached their vehicle, holding a baseball bat. The suspect then allegedly hit the victim and demanded that they turn over their vehicle.

The victim was able to flee and contact police.

Officers checked the area for the suspect but were not successful.
