Art League of Ocean City has a new exhibit for the month of September
"Seeing Sound"
Ocean City, Md. – The Seeing Sound exhibit kicked off in Ocean City and the community is excited. The Art League’s Executive Director Rina Thaler said she was readily anticipating what the community might come up with, and according to her, they did not disappoint.
She says artists were asked to visualize music through art and they received 58 submissions. A lot of the art consisted of 3-D sculptures, paintings, and intricate crafts. She says her favorite was the punk band on wooden logs because they used common parts you could find at a hardware store. Thaler stresses no matter who you are, this type of show is for everyone.
“So performing and the visual arts appeal to just about everybody. Because if you like to go to concerts, you’ll love this show, if you like to go to museums, you’ll love this show, if you’re somebody who doesn’t like traditional art, but you want something a little bit different, you can find it in this exhibit… You might not be able to make art, but anybody can come out and appreciate art.”
The exhibit runs throughout September and the gallery is open 7 days a week until 4 pm, and they encourage the community to come out and see the music.
