Wicomico Co. man convicted of raping minor

SALISBURY, Md. – A Wicomico County man has been convicted of sexually abusing and raping a minor.

This week, 36-year-old Darnell Jenkins was convicted of two counts of sex abuse of a minor, second degree rape, two counts of attempted second degree rape, and three counts of third degree sex offense.

The charges stemmed from an investigation that revealed from 2019 through 2020, Jenkins sexually abused a minor under the age of 9.

Sentencing was deferred pending a mandatory pre-sentence investigation and mental health assessment. Jenkins will remain in custody pending sentencing.
