Warrant round up in Dover leads to numerous arrests

DOVER, Del. – Dover Police say a multi-agency warrant round up led to multiple arrests on Tuesday.

Starting in the early morning hours, Dover PD officers, as well as officers from Delaware Probation and Parole and the Delaware Department of Corrections, worked together to apprehend several people with outstanding arrest warrants. Police say a total of 15 people were arrested on numerous criminal charges, as well as several capias’ issued by courts across the state.

Included in the arrests were 28-year-old Jakeel Young and 28-year-old Hakeem Gibson, who were taken into custody at a residence in the 400 block of Court Street. While at the home, officers reportedly found a loaded stolen pistol, a loaded 9mm handgun, 61 doses of oxycodone, 7 doses of doxycycline, 3 doses of buprenorphine, and 208.9 grams of promethazine.

Young was charged with possession of a large capacity magazine, three counts of possession of a firearm/ammunition by a person prohibited, and receiving a stolen firearm. He was held at SCI on a $16,000 cash bail.

Gibson was charged with possession of a large capacity magazine, five counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held at SCI on a $14,000 secured bail.
