Shorebirds come back for a miracle win
SALISBURY, Md. – The Shorebirds scored late and often in their comeback victory over Carolina, 5-4, Friday night at home.
The Mudcats came out strong in the first inning, as Eric Bitonti knocked in a run on a sacrifice fly. Carolina added another on a Blayberg Diaz sacrifice fly.
Reece Walling singled in the fourth to right field, scoring Daniel Guilarte.
From the eighth to the tenth inning Delmarva turned it around and scored three runs while only allowing one.
Bray Tavera kept the game alive in the bottom of the tenth, driving in Ryan Stafford on a single to nod the game at four.
Maikol Hernandez was the hero in the eleventh, as his bunt single brought Tavera home to win the game.
Delmarva will play the Mudcats in the fifth game of this series Saturday night at 7:05 pm.
