Several arrested after loitering, drug investigation in Seaford
SEAFORD, Del. – An investigation into loitering led to multiple drug arrests in Seaford last week.
At around 6:30 p.m. Friday, Seaford Police were assisted by Delaware State Police in responding to the intersection of North Street and Woolford Street for a report of loitering, possible drug dealing, and a wanted subject. Before responding, officers used live video cameras in the area to observe a group sitting in chairs and standing on the sidewalk, preventing the free flow of pedestrian traffic and evidence of possible drug dealing.
Officers tried to contact the group, at which point one subject allegedly dropped a package and ran on foot. The subject, identified as 28-year-old Elijah Desir, was quickly arrested and found in possession of another package. Between the packages, police found 48.7 grams of crack cocaine and 130 bags of suspected heroin (.91 grams). Desir was subsequently charged and held on a $131,801 cash bail and ordered to have no contact with North Street and Woolford Street.
Additionally, five other people were arrested and charged in connection to this investigation:
