Salisbury woman killed in Preston-area crash, police investigating

PRESTON, Md. – Maryland State Police are investigating a crash that claimed the life of a Salisbury woman in Preston Tuesday evening.

Troopers were called to the intersection of Route 16 (Harmony Road) and Grove Road just after 6:30 p.m. for a reported two car crash. Preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford was traveling south on Route 16 when, for unknown reasons, a Chevrolet reportedly failed to stop at the intersection, hitting the Ford as a result.

The driver and sole occupant of the Ford, identified as 30-year-old Courtney Dunn, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver and a 16-year-old passenger in the Chevrolet were flown by Maryland State Police Aviation to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional and the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center for treatment of their injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
