Salisbury crash claims life of a 10-year-old girl

SALISBURY, Md. – A crash involving two vehicles and a cement truck claimed the life of a child in Salisbury Monday morning.

Shortly after 11 a.m., officers responded to the area of Route 50 westbound and the Bypass on-ramp for a reported crash involving an SUV, cement truck, and pickup truck. Initial investigation revealed that a 2018 Toyota Highlander was trying to cross Route 50 to enter the on-ramp to the Bypass when it was hit by a cement truck traveling westbound on Route 50. As a result, the Highlander then reportedly hit a Ford F-150.

A passenger of the Highlander, a 10-year-old girl, was taken to TidalHealth for treatment of her injuries, but was pronounced dead a short time later. The driver of the Highlander was also taken to TidalHealth for non-life-threatening injuries.
