OP Police warning of email scams

OCEAN PINES, Md. – Ocean Pines Police are reminding residents of fraudulent emails circulating the area.

Police say the emails are disguised as coming from legitimate people in Ocean Pines, many of which reference needing help with a project or participation in a financial transaction. These emails are aimed at fraudulently scamming people out of money or getting access to financial information.

Police urge residents to use caution and to not open or respond to any emails that look suspicious.
