Ocean City Police requests public’s help in search for handgun

OCEAN CITY, Md. – Police are asking for the public’s help in finding a discarded handgun.

According to police, an officer approached a car stopped near 100th Street on Coastal Highway around 4:30 a.m. Thursday, observing a gun in the driver’s lap. The driver then reportedly sped off, leading the officer on a brief chase. The driver was eventually arrested, but the handgun was not found.

Police ask the public to keep an eye out between 110th and 62nd Streets for the discarded handgun. If you find it, you should not touch it and immediately contact OCPD at 410-723-6610.
