Local Masonic Lodge set to host Community Day

Community Day

DELAWARE – A local Masonic group is more for the community. The Prince Hall Grand Lodge of Delaware is Partnering with Beebe Healthcare to host a community day for its citizens.

Festivities will include music, free food, and activities for the kids, but organizers say there will be much more. There will also be free health screenings and wellness baskets, vision screenings and free glasses for the youth, and a DUI Simulator to sway kids from drinking and driving.

District Deputy Grand Master Anthony Payne said it’s his first year organizing the event, and this is the way he wanted to give back to the community. He chose last August because it’s right before the school year, and he says that he hopes this also inspires the community to give back to the less fortunate. “I laid roots here and wanted to see how we as Free Masons, as individuals, a group of Brothern can give back to our community… We’re going to be armed with 300 bookbags, with school supplies already inside the bags, and barbers there to do free haircuts.”

The Community Day will be held Saturday, August 24th, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Prince Hall Grand Lodge in Dover.
