Law enforcement give tips on safe back to school social media posts
MARYLAND. – Kids are heading back to school and police are warning parents to think twice before posting about it.
Some make it a tradition to post a photo of their child on their first day of school, but Worcester County Sheriff, Matt Crisafulli, said there’s a right and a wrong way to do it.
He added there is such a thing as posting too much information on your child, so being mindful of what not to share is important to keep them safe.
“Putting a child’s full name, putting their age, putting their grade, putting their school location, and taking these pictures at their residence, a lot of times they take it on their street with the house address, this is giving out way too much information to the public,” Sheriff Crisafulli said.
