Good Morning Delmarva discusses the Hog Heroes Foundation’s memorial poker run along
WMDT – On Saturday, Sept. 14th, a memorial poker run along is being held to commemorate the memory of both Corporal Heacock and DFC Hilliard.
The event is during Ocean City’s Bike Week where bikes, jeeps, trucks, and cars are all welcome.
This morning, the president and vice-president of the Hogs Heroes Foundation, Rich Kelley and Mike Carmean, stopped by to tell us more.
Kelley says that registration starts at 8 a.m. then there will be a safety briefing at 10 a.m.
He explains that the run along includes visiting different stops at several locations to draw cards.
At the end, whoever has the best hand wins a $500 dollar cash prize.
They say the idea originally was to have a memorial ride, but they came up with this unique idea to really bring the community together in a super fun way.
This event is an opportunity to honor our first responders and support our heroes.
You have to be 18 to participate and the score card costs $35.
The event will include door prizes, the Hog Heroes Foundation’s famous barbeque chicken, and more!
