Chincoteague Library receives grant for technology upgrade
VIRGINIA- The Eastern Shore Public Library Foundation has awarded close to $17,000 to The Chincoteague Island Library to upgrade its public computer access.
“Library’s now, are more than just books,” says Maureen Teague who is a member of the Library Board of Trustees. She said it was important to update the computers and put in a workstation for the children’s room that includes bilingual capabilities. She says they bought new computers, laptops, and wireless printers.
Teague says this funding will go a long way in helping the community, and this award is one of many in the first round of an annual grant program to support all the Eastern Shore’s public libraries. “Having access to the internet through public access at the library and also through equipment that the library offers to patrons, gives them the ability to be connected.”
They want to thank the Eastern Shore Public Library Foundation for the funding and they and working hard to get the project underway very soon.
