Backpack Giveaway for school aged children
MARYLAND – The third annual Backpack giveaway is happening again in Salisbury. Every year, Compass Health Services aims to get kids off to a good start.
They are a licensed mental health agency and specialize in rehabilitation for adults, children and adolescents. Deloris Watson helped organize the event and says this was a way to show their appreciation to the community. She says there will be free food and drinks, and a raffle where someone will win a brand-new vehicle. In the end, she says their main goal is to help improve the quality of life for the community.
“So, we have free backpacks that are going to be filled with all the essentials, folders, pencils, crayons, highlighters, even some have tablets. We actually exist because of our community. So, we definitely want to be a apart of thanking the community for utilizing our services.”
The giveaway will take place Thursday, August 22nd from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at 2326 Goddard Parkway Suite A. They request parents bring their children to receive the school supplies, no questions asked!
