Another Worcester County fair, another great turnout

SNOW HILL, Md – The Worcester County Fair was a success, the three-day extravaganza capped off today at the Worcester Recreation Center.

Deputy Dir. of Parks and Recreation Jacob Stephens said he was pleased with the turnout. “The Worcester County fair went well, I believe we had about 3,000 people in 3 days here, and we have been able to show off our 4h and FFA kids as well as our livestock and different entries throughout the county.”

“You know we had different components going on throughout the week at different businesses throughout the county and it tied things together we’ve seen a lot of people come out and be happy with the event and you know it’s great to see everybody enjoy themselves at an agriculture event.”

Tropical storm Debby did play a role in the location changes, Stephens said the move from Byrd Park made all the difference.

“Without this location, I’m not sure we would have had this fair this week, due to the tropical storm that came up the coast, the tide has been high at bird park, so we’re glad to have it here, this is a well-drained facility.”

Everyone from county organizers to attendees were pleased with the turnout– and look forward to next year– including

Attendee A’leigh Daniels was also pleased with the turnout. She said the fair was one of the best in her young life, “Since over the years, I feel like this is the best one so far, we’ve had more vendors and more people coming to support 4h and see what it’s about.”

The County will continue to put on community events, and you can visit the website here for more scheduling information.
