2024 Football Previews: Polytech Panthers

WOODSIDE, Del. – In 2023, the Polytech Panthers made school history in multiple ways, setting a program record for wins with a 10-2 mark, making the playoffs for the first time, and making it to the 1A state semis after getting their first playoff win with a 28-6 beatdown of Glasgow in the first round.

The Panthers bring back a lot of impact players from last year’s foundational season. All-Class 1A Running Back Noah Walker is back for his senior season but the 1000-yard rusher isn’t the only senior looking to build off of last season. 22 seniors return this year including Quarterback Isaac Balcerak who is in his third year with the team.

Panthers head coach David Eilers has confidence his crew will repeat last season’s success and go even deeper in the postseason due to all of the weapons his quarterback will have around him.

“We also have a great passing game. That’s one of the things that I’m excited about this year is that we have so many weapons on offense. It’s not just one guy it’s not going to be just Noah. We have Simon, we have Aven Diamond. we have Michael Beasley. We’ve got a lot of skill guys that will help us in our passing game, it’s going to be tough to stop,” Eilers said.
