Why does everyone love the rides at the Delaware State Fair?

HARRINGTON, Del. – “I feel like for kids, the rides are probably the funnest part, most of the time because the parents wanna just look around at stuff, and that can be very boring” Lexi said the rides can be a great escape from hanging out with “boring” parents.

But the rides are for the so-called boring parents too. “I grew up working at a six flags when I was a teenager in georgia, and I like just love the rides. And I love exposing the kids to them,” Amber said.

But Amber said even though she loves the rides, there are lines she won’t cross: “Spinny things. Really spinny things. Yeah, like that thing back there, the orbiter. No thanks.”

Other fairgoers said they love spinny things.

Escaping Boredom, finding nostalgia, seeking thrills. But what’s actually the best ride?

Lexi said her favorite ride was the pirate ship: “It goes high, but it’s not that scary once you get used to it, and I love the feeling it gives you in the stomach.”

High. But not too high?
At a certain point, I had to go check it out for myself.

But what else is out there?

According to Bella and William, the haunted house was the best ride. My investigation was able to confirm excitement and surprise, but the best? Inconclusive.

William thinks that at the end of the day – it might not even be able the rides themselves: “They have such amazing workers here. I don’t know what they would do without all the amazing people that work here”
