UPDATE: Suspect in Milton shooting arrested

MILTON, Del. – Delaware State Police have arrested a man wanted in connection to a shooting earlier this month in Milton.

The incident took place shortly before 8 p.m. on July 14th, in the area of Cool Spring Road and Fisher Road. Police initially responded to the report of a Ford Explorer that crashed into a utility pole, learning that the driver, a 27-year-old Laurel man, had been shot in the back. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with critical injuries.

Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was driving on West Springside Drive when the suspect fired several rounds at the vehicle, hitting the victim and causing him to hit a utility police a short distance away.

Detectives identified the suspect as 24-year-old Timmarus Perry and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Perry was arrested on Wednesday and charged with first degree assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of a firearm by a person prohibited. He was held at DSI on a $105,000 secured bond.
