Traffic stop leads to DUI, firearm charges for Seaford man

SEAFORD, Del. – A traffic stop in Blades led to the arrest of a man on gun and traffic related charges.

Shortly before 1 a.m. Tuesday, a trooper on patrol saw a Mercedes E350 driving on South Market Street in Blades with multiple equipment violations, leading to a traffic stop. When the trooper contacted the driver, identified as 22-year-old Myles Andrews, signs of impairment were observed. Standard Field Sobriety tests were administered, leading to the arrest of Andrews. A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the recovery of a loaded handgun with an obliterated serial number, several rounds of ammunition, a digital scale, and other drug paraphernalia.

Andrews was charged with three counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited, possession of a weapon with an obliterated serial number, carrying a concealed deadly weapon, possession of drug paraphernalia, DUI, and several traffic violations He was held at SCI on a $25,302 secured bond.
