Seaford community is coming together through celebration
Community Unite Fun Day
DELAWARE – The second annual Community Unite Day is set to take place this Saturday, July 20 in Seaford, Delaware.
The Community Unite Day was originally started by Meshell Applewhite. The death of her son led her to want to help people in pain everywhere. She told reporters that House for Pride- an organization that helps feed the homeless, is collaborating with Community Unite to help host the event. She says even though in her own personal life, she is currently still in need, she says helping others and putting similes on children’s faces makes her struggles not seem so bad.
Troy Purnell is also an organizer of the event and enjoys helping out. He says there will be many moving parts at the event, and this is the best way to show unity in Seaford. “The main thing is to have a good time together. We’re going to have fun, we’re going to have moon bounces and water slides, and we’re going to have plenty of entertainment along with a DJ. So, Like I said, it’s a bunch of moving pieces in our community, different groups and whatnot and we want to bring everyone together to show that we are one.”
The event will take place on Saturday in Seaford, Delaware from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. The community is encouraged to show up and show out!
