Salisbury Urban Ministries hosts community bbq event for the homeless Saturday

SALISBURY, Md – The Salisbury Urban Ministries, in conjunction with St. Luke Church will be hosting the ‘God’s Kitchen’ community BBQ event for the homeless and hungry on Saturday, July 20th.

The event will run from 11 a.m. until food runs out, most likely until the afternoon. Those in need can go to the event, located at 635 Church Street.

Coordinator for Gods Kitchen Priscilla Jackson says the event is huge for the community, “Most of the people that come to God’s Kitchen each week are homeless, and the food impoverished, and a lot are in this neighborhood so this parking lot will become BBQ city Saturday morning.” said Jackson.

Salisbury Urban Ministries will also be hosting a food drop for the homeless at the same location on August 3rd.
