Peninsula Mental Health hosts ‘Feeding Our Unhoused Body, Mind & Soul’ event

SALISBURY, Md – The Feeding our Unhoused Body, Mind, & Soul event sponsored by Peninsula Mental Health & Addiction Services, is taking place Friday, July 26th, from 3 pm to 6 pm.

Mental health therapist, Steven Daggs said that the unhoused population has been an ongoing problem in Salisbury, and they want to be the group to support those in need. “Being homeless doesn’t discriminate, and I feel as a community we have to do a better job in supporting and building up and not tearing down; You can heal with the support, with the right resources and that’s where my job comes in, you heal by not doing it alone,” said Daggs.

Dagg said when something costly and untimely happens, it could put people living on a tight budget at a disadvantage, “78% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck and just think if something happens where that person gets in an accident and can’t work that could be them too.” Said Daggs.

Dagg encourages people of all kinds to make it out if they can, as the event will be packed with resources, “We going to have bouncy houses, we going to have Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse appearances, we’re going to give away food and supplies until gone, bookbags to help families that got kids going back to school.” Said Daggs.

The event will take place at 102. W. Market Street.
