One killed, one injured in Bridgeville crash
BRIDGEVILLE, Del. – An overnight crash on Wednesday has claimed the life of one and injured another in Bridgeville.
At around 1 a.m., police say a 2017 Dodge Durango was traveling in a northbound lane of Sussex Highway, approaching the area of Newtown Road, at the same time a 2013 Hyundai Sante Fe was traveling southbound in a northbound lane of Sussex Highway, in the Dodge’s path of travel. Both vehicles were traveling in the left northbound lane as they approached each other from opposite directions. To avoid colliding with the Hyundai, the Dodge moved into the right northbound lane of Sussex Highway, but the Hyundai did the same, causing a crash. The Hyundai then flipped before both vehicles came to rest.
The driver of the Hyundai, identified as 22-year-old Djifenson Dorilus, was taken to an area hospital for life-threatening injuries. He died from his injuries on Thursday.
The driver of the Dodge, a 46-year-old Millsboro man, was taken to a nearby hospital for serious injuries.
