One arrested, second wanted in Cambridge drug investigation

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – One person has been arrested and a second is wanted on drug charges stemming from a traffic stop on Sunday.

Shortly after midnight, a deputy on patrol stopped a vehicle for a registration violation. During the stop, a K-9 alerted to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle, and a subsequent search led to the seizure of approximately 630 packaged wax folds containing heroin/fentanyl, three Percocet pills, two ecstasy pills, other CDS packaging materials, a small amount of cash, and a bag of cannabis.

Deputies tried to place the occupants under arrest, during which one of the occupants, identified as 23-year-old Justin Foster, allegedly fled from the scene.

Foster and the second occupant, identified as 23-year-old Robert Palmer, were each charged with three counts of CDS possession not cannabis, two counts of CDS possession with the intent to distribute narcotics, possession with the intent to distribute CDS fentanyl/heroin, CDS possession – large amount, and CDS possession of paraphernalia. Palmer was additionally charged with several traffic related offenses, and Foster was charged with additional offenses related to his evasion of arrest.

Palmer was later released on a $15,000 unsecured bond.

A warrant has been obtained for Foster, who remains wanted.
