OCPD addresses fire alarm issues across city

OCEAN CITY, Md. – The Ocean City Fire Department says that numerous buildings in the city with fire alarm systems may be experiencing issues with the system’s telecommunications interface.

We’re told these may be related to the CrowdStrike software issue. The issue at this time does not appear to affect fire alarm system detectors or occupant notification features, some systems that typically automatically contact the fire department via phone line temporarily may not work. This could lead to a potential delay in fire department response.

Occupants of buildings experiencing a fire alarm activation and/or fire are encouraged, as always, to immediately evacuate and dial 911 to ensure prompt response of the fire department.
