MSP searching for wanted murder suspect in Salisbury
SALISBURY, Md. – Maryland State Police are searching for the man wanted in connection to a fatal shooting last month in Salisbury.
At around 2:30 a.m. on June 9th, police responded to the 700 block of E. Naylor Mill Road for a reported shooting. Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect, identified as 27-year-old Fernando Medina-Moreta, got into a physical altercation with the victim, 23-year-old Franklin Perez Rodriguez. During the incident, Medina-Moreta reportedly pulled out a gun and shot Rodriguez before fleeing the scene.
Rodriguez was taken to TidalHealth Peninsula Regional, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say Medina-Moreta should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact Sgt. Scott Sears at 443-783-7230.
