Motorcycle crash leaves one dead

FREDERICA, Del. – Delaware State Police are investigating after a motorcycle crash left one dead on Saturday.

According to police, at 2:41 p.m. a Kawasaki motorcycle was approaching Frederica Road, travelling south on Bay Road.

Early investigation reveals that the motorcycle was maintaining high speed when it took Exit 86 and failed to properly navigate the curve. The driver lost control and was ejected from the motorcycle.

The driver, identified as a 36-year-old man from Felton, was pronounced dead on the scene. His identity is being withheld pending notification of family.

Frederica Road was closed for over two hours while police inspected and cleared the scene. The investigation by the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is ongoing.
