Mobile home fire ruled accidental in Talbot Co.

CORDOVA, Md. – A mobile home in Talbot County was heavily damaged in a fire Tuesday afternoon.

Just after 4 p.m., firefighters were called to the 29000 block of Schockley Lane in Cordova for a reported house fire. Crews were able to control the blaze in roughly 45 minutes.

Further investigation by Maryland State Fire Marshals revealed that the fire was accidental in nature, caused by a mechanical and electrical failure in the water pump. Total damage was estimated at $100,000, and the occupants are being assisted by the American Red Cross.
