Man arrested for theft of two vehicles, robbery in Delaware
FRANKFORD, Del. – A Frankford man is behind bars on charges stemming from multiple investigations in Kent and Sussex Counties.
On Friday, troopers were called to Hertrich Chevrolet of Dover for a reported stolen vehicle. It was learned that a man arrived at the dealership in a Mini Cooper and asked to test drive a vehicle. The man then reportedly got into a gray 2024 Chevrolet Silverado, locked himself inside, and disregarded the car salesman trying to stop him as he fled from the dealership without providing any identification. A computer check on the vehicle that the suspect arrived in led police to a Frankford address, and troopers learned that the stolen Silverado was tracking at a residence on Powell Farm Road in Frankford.
Troopers arrived at the address and found the stolen vehicle in the driveway, and the suspect, identified as 42-year-old Thomas Pusey, inside the home. It was also learned that Pusey allegedly trespassed onto the neighbor’s property and stole the Mini Cooper, drove to Hertrich Chevrolet, left the Mini Cooper, and stole the Silverado.
During the investigation, police also identified Pusey as the suspect responsible for a robbery on Friday at the Walgreens on Atlantic Avenue in Ocean View. Pusey reportedly went behind the pharmacy counter after he was unable to fill his prescription and grabbed medications, getting into a physical altercation with two Walgreens employees who were trying to prevent him from taking the medications. He eventually dropped the medications and fled from Walgreens in the stolen truck.
Pusey was charged with second degree robbery, two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, attempt to commit theft $1500 or greater, two counts of offensive touching, disorderly conduct, first and third degree criminal trespass, and breach of release. He was held at SCI on a $13,450 cash bond.
