Lewes man arrested following theft investigation

LEWES, Del. – A Lewes man was arrested last week on felony theft and attempted theft charges.

On June 11th, troopers began investigating a theft and attempted theft from vehicles in the Angola area near Lewes, learning that an unknown suspect had gone through vehicles in the Angola Beach and Estates, Bayridge Crossing, and The Cove neighborhoods. The incidents reportedly took place between June 11th and 14th and money was stolen. It was also learned that the suspect trespassed on several properties in those neighborhoods.

Troopers identified the suspect as 31-year-old William Rodenbaugh, who was arrested on Friday. He was charged with attempt to commit theft under $1500 where victim is over 62, theft under $1500 where victim is over 62, attempt to commit theft under $1500, and four counts of third degree criminal trespass. He was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond, however, he was held at SCI on an existing capias warrant.
