Juvenile suspect charged in connection to June sexual assault in Rehoboth

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Police have charged a juvenile in connection to a reported sexual assault last month in Rehoboth Beach.

The incident took place during the early morning hours of June 19th and involved a juvenile victim. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where they were treated and released.

Police were able to determine the identity of the suspect, who is also a juvenile, and learned they were no longer in the area. It was reported that the victim and suspect did not know each other prior to meeting that evening.

Warrants were obtained for the suspect on June 28th, and the suspect voluntarily returned to Delaware on July 2nd, at which point they were charged with second and fourth degree rape without consent. The suspect was released after posting a $20,000 secured bond and was court ordered not to return to the State of Delaware for any reason except court appearance.
