Good Morning Delmarva discusses the 2024 OC Film Challenge
WMDT – This summer the Ocean City Film Festival is presenting its 6th annual Film Challenge Night.
They are currently accepting short film submissions for the challenge until July 31st!
B.L. Strang-Moya, the creative director for the Ocean City Film Fest, tells us they want to encourage people to get involved in the local film scene and make more movies on Ocean City.
Strang-Moya tells us it gets more and more competitive each summer with several of the films submitted going on to be featured in other festivals in the region.
It’s a great opportunity for filmmakers even as young as high school to network and join a growing community on the lower eastern shore.
He says having prior experience making movies is not necessary as it’s a great platform to get yourself seen.
Strang-Moya’s advice for those wishing to submit is don’t be afraid of adversity if you’re new to the game.
They want to see a good and unique story that they can see standing alone outside of just the event.
Again, submissions for the challenge close July 31st, but there will be a screening Saturday, August 10th.
There will also be a Q&A and they will announce the winners that evening.
