Good Morning Delmarva discusses Community Unite’s upcoming fun day

WMDT – Community Unite is an organization that brings people together for different events in the area.

On July 20th they will be hosting their upcoming Fun Day!

This morning, Michelle Applewhite, stopped by to tell us more about the event and how it will bring the community together.

She tells us this event is to help the less fortunate who are in need of resources by bringing everyone to fun events.

Last year, they feed over 350 people dealing with hunger.

What sparked the idea to start Community Unite is the death of her son who she honors through giving back to others.

There will be resources available such as social services, first community, and different health providers. They will also be supplying free food and clothing.

Applewhite says mental health is at the forefront and reminding others importance of having a support system.

Again, the event will be July 20th starting at 10 a.m. at 414 High St. in Seaford.
