Firearms, drugs seized during recent initiative in Wicomico Co.
SALISBURY, Md. – A firearms suppression initiative in Wicomico County resulted in the recovery of multiple weapons, controlled dangerous substances, and five arrests.
During the month of June, the Salisbury Police Department and Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office collaborated in an effort to combat illegal firearm possession and reduce gun violence in the community. Throughout the initiative, law enforcement conducted a total of 48 traffic stops and 18 field interviews, which led to five arrests and the recovery of five illegal firearms, two of which were reported stolen.
Additionally, a variety of controlled dangerous substances were also seized, including 22.95 grams of cocaine, 37.14 grams of heroin, and 21 oxycodone/fentanyl tablets.
