Dover man arrested on drug and firearm charges
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police have arrested 32-year-old Agmere Matthews. The Dover man is facing drug and firearm charges following a shots fired complaint early Wednesday morning.
Officials say they were called to South New Street for a report of shots fired just after 4AM. After reviewing surveillance video they spotted a suspect holding a firearm in the area. They say that suspect was Matthews, who they took into custody without incident. During the incident, officers say they found 23 grams of crack cocaine and an undisclosed amount of money on Matthews. They later recovered a firearm after searching the area the suspect had come from before being taken into custody.
Matthews is facing multiple charges including possession of firearm during the commission of a felony. He is being held on $55,000 secured bail at SCI.
