DEWEY BEACH, Del. – Located in the heart of downtown Dewey right on the Rehoboth Bay, Dewey Beach Water Sports is the premier spot to get in on some summer thrills.

Manager Aliyah Browning tells WMDT, there are lots of rental options for people of all ages. “The banana boat, I would argue is our most fun activity, and it’s good for all ages. I mean we have ages six to seventy and eighty years old this summer.” Browning says they provide all the safety equipment and you can fit up to six people excluding the captain.

There are multiple options for people to have fun when visiting. One of their family-friendly options is their sunset cruises; This is a new offering for the 2024 season. They go out every night from 7:30 to 8:30 and Browning says, you don’t even need to have any boating experience since a captain will be provided.

One of the most popular offerings is the jet ski rentals at the property. The requirements are 18 or older with a valid driver’s license. Browning says, “All of our jet skis are two-seaters. So a lot of families will come out, they’ll have Mom and Dad in the front kids on the back.”

The best part of this experience was the care of the employees on site who emphasized safety “We have a lot of returning employees that come back. So what that means is we’re just compounding our experience.” Browning also mentioned the extensive pre-check routine they go through every day before sending anyone out for themselves. With strict guidelines from DNREC and Delaware Water Patrol, they follow you can be assured the trip will be safe and secure.

Dewey Beach Watersports also offers kayaks and paddleboards for customers. With the option to paddle out to Thompson’s Island within the bay. You may even spot some horseshoe crabs along the water.
