DIAA moving football championship site

DELAWARE – DIAA football state championships will no longer be held at the University of Delaware.

Dave Baylor, the executive director of DIAA, said having the University of Delaware host football championships has become too expensive and they will now discuss new host sites.

Baylor mentioned Abessinio Stadium in Wilmington as a possible site for classes 1A and 2A, with Cape Henlopen, Caesar Rodney, and Dover as potential sites for 3A title games.

Several members expressed concerns regarding potential home field advantages for certain schools in the title games.
