Bring ‘Mayberry Back to Milton Festival’ on Independence Day
MILTON, Del. – The “Bring Mayberry Back to Milton” festival was the site of a huge Independence Day celebration today for a holiday tradition for food, fun, and fellowship.
President of the Milton Chamber of Commerce Aaron Rodgers said he loves his community and knows this event will become even bigger next year.
“I think Milton is such an upcoming town, I think we have so much to offer with our local businesses here now, I just think that every year, this event is going to get bigger and it’s going to attract people to do this event and this event only,” said Rodgers.
Setting up the event wasn’t easy; it took a lot of work behind the scenes. Rodgers said it took a lot of dedication to make the operation work. “A lot of volunteer hours between myself and a handful of other chambers of commerce members, a lot of back-end stuff, a lot of community involvement a lot of moving pieces.”
The event was free to the community and Rodgers said the purpose of this event was to keep folk in Milton and not to the surrounding resort towns. “The community needs to see, that you can come to an event of ours and not have to shell out money, we have a handful of donations from several local businesses to offset for things that do cost money.” Said Rodgers.
The Milton Chamber of Commerce is looking to keep the party going, and soon would like to hold concert series events. “I love this town; I love to see the growth year over year and I’m excited to be a part of it,” said Rodgers.
